Academician TU Shantung
TU Shantung(1961-),Male, Doctor of Engineering, safety technology expert of chemical equipment, professor/doctoral supervisor of East China University of Science and Technology, elected as an academician of the CAE Member in 2019. He has held various positions including postdoctoral fellow at Southwest Jiaotong University, visiting researcher at the Royal Institute of Technology in Swed en, professor and dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering at Nanjing University of Technology, vice president of Nanjing University of Technology, and professor and vice president at East China University of Science and Technology.
Engaged in long-term research on safety technology for high-temperature and high-pressure equipment, we have innovatively developed technologies for safety maintenance, safety evaluation, and intrinsic safety regulation of high-temperature and pressure equipment. These technologies have been successfully applied to safety assurance projects in heavy chemical industries such as petrochemicals and energy, contributing to the annual decrease in the accident rate of tens of thousands of pressure equipment in China. It has won one first prize and three second prizes of the National Award for Science and Technology Progress, one the State Technological Innovation Award, one first prize of the Shandong Provincial Award for Science and Technology Progress, and one first prize of the Shanghai Natural Science Award.
He has served as the Chairman of the Asia Pacific Regional Committee of International Council of Pressure Vessel Technology, a member of International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science, Co Chairman of Versailles Project on Advanced Materials and Standards, Director of the Technical Committee of the Shanghai Aero Engine Engineering Technology Research Center, Honorary Chairman of the Teaching Guidance Committee for Process Equipment and Control Engineering in Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry of Education, Honorary Chairman of the Pressure Vessel Branch of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering, First Chairman of the Science and Technology Association of East China University of Science and Technology, and Chairman of the Editorial Committee of the 7th Pressure Vessel Magazine.
